Pilate and Bond...

Normally I don't get too upset when I find out about all the really good documentaries that air in the States before they debut in Canada but this one really hurts....

9.00 p.m. |HINT|The Real Pontius Pilate: The Man Who Killed Christ
Posterity can be a heavy burden. In the 19th year of Emperor Tiberius's reign, a local disturbance occurred in Judea--an obscure province of the Roman Empire. But for this incident, Pontius Pilate's name might shine through history in a positive light. Who was this biblical bogeyman? As we strip away the mythology, a vivid portrait emerges of a flesh-and-blood Roman faced with the unenviable task of maintaining order by exercising brutal pragmatics. Pilate's story remains without rival.
WAHHHHHHHH!!! *openly weeps*  What do we get stuck with on our Canadian History Channel? Probably another documentary on some war - that's all they ever show!  It should be renamed The War Channel. (Actually it's not that bad tonight - Ultimate Engineering: The Pyramids. Still, it's not PILATE!!)

One of the TMN stations has been airing a James Bond tribute all week featuring the likes of Moonraker, Octopussy, For Your Eyes Only, A View to A Kill - all those Roger Moore Bond films of the 80s that everyone really enjoyed when they first came out. I always thought the Bond films were so slick and sophisticated. Now that I am rewatching them they are barely tolerable and rather laughable at best. I can't believe people actually enjoyed this garbage. It is so funny when you look at it compared to the recent Casino Royale. 80s Bond was such a moron - and, by association, if 80s Bond was a moron, and I thought he was cool at the time, does that mean I was even dorkier in the 80s than I remember being? *is very scared*

Agree 80's Bond was painful to watch but I don't remember you ever being dorky then or now...introverted, intelligent, and somewhat opinionated but NEVER dorky!
