Grass Courts and workouts...

I admit it, I'm still basking in the Roland Garros 4-peat glory but, alas, on to bigger and hopefully just-as-good-if-not-better things...grass court season. Rafa managed the quick turnaround from clay to grass and took just over an hour to defeat Jonas Bjorkman in straight sets. He looked quite polished out there, as if he had been doing this for months now rather than just a day. I love watching the Artois Championships (Queens) - the center court is very intimate and has such a positive and cheery aura about it. I know I may be asking for too much but I really hope that the weather for Wimbledon is at least decent for the majority of the fortnight. I don't want to see Rafa suffer through seven straight days of matches like the rain plagued tourney of last year. I can't remember when the roof is scheduled to go up but I know it is not this year. Of course that upgrade will change the dynamics and the ambiance of the event but in the long run I guess it will be of benefit to ensure that the tournament always remains on schedule. OK I'm stepping ahead of myself here. Queens. Grass Court. A solid win for Rafa in his first grass match of the year. I'm happy. And I'm glad to see Roger back on court and winning in Halle.

I'm thankfully back on track again with my workouts and am now running about 4km three times a week. I'm also back on the rowing machine - only about 1000 meters at a time - but it is more so for cool-down purposes after the running. Yesterday I did some backwards pushups and my upper back and triceps are paying for that today. I really wish I could find a chin up bar somewhere and I need to find some good exercises for my lower abs...nothing seems to work that area properly IMO.

It is so beautiful outside right now - 23 degrees and sunny. I think I'll take a walk during lunch hour.
Grass is second to clay...I'm not stressed at all about Wimbledon. I have really good intuition about the tourney. Rafa's carrera is about to go into the statosphere mark my words! Nothing can stop him...I mean nothing!

Too bad F-Lo lost...I know he can be in the top 20 even the top 10 if he would just be more focused like Rafa...maybe now that he isn't distracted by others he can focus more...let's hope. I wish he were playing doubles with Rafa though.

I love watching the Artois Championships (Queens)

Definitely one of my favs as well! I love how the players mix with the crowds of watchers...no pretence no I'm a star you're just a fan mentality.

Can I have some beer now please lol? *pours some for Anubis*

I don't want to see Rafa suffer through seven straight days of matches like the rain

Me too! I'm seriously considering doing a ritual to appease the solar deities and "hold back the rain".

I'm thankfully back on track again with my workouts

Remind me to go get my swim card this weekend...

Is cause you 'watch' the future, no?

I wish he were playing doubles with Rafa though.
I know...it sucks. I miss the good 'ol days when they were partners...and NOT in a Perry/Casey sort of way...err, ummm, well actually,.... *tries NOT to ponder this*

Oh and, btw, GET A SWIM CARD THIS WEEKEND!!!
Si I watch the future...tengo intuición.

and NOT in a Perry/Casey sort of way...err, ummm, well actually

Ya rethink that...*ponders*

Didn't see Rafa's match, but glad he won.
Lucky u, you have a nice weather. Its hot & dusty here, I played tennis, my hands were sweating, I need to get a new grip that absorbs sweat :P

There is a good exercise for the lower abs. Duno how to explain it, but I'll try. You lay straight on your back, legs stretched. Then you higher both legs up together keeping them stretched/straight & you lower them down (but you dont touch the ground) When they go up its like ur body has become a 'right angle'...hope this helps :S
Ok here's a pic: http://www.changingshape.com/images/exercise/workoutpictures/reverseabcruch1.jpg
That exercise is one of the few ones that I do know of that does work - I can feel it working the exact area (lower abs) that I want to tone. Thanks

I have to admit I think I'd prefer your weather...I love it when it is really hot. Although I can't imagine how terrible it must be to try and play tennis in that sort of weather. You should keep some kind of talc with you so you can put it on your hands when you sweat - that may help absorb the extra moisture.
