Rock Paper Scissors Lizard Spock

Writer's Block: Fan love

Who is your favorite TV character of all time? Why did s/he make such a big impact on you? Do you collect any memorabilia? Did s/he inspire you creatively in any way?

So so many...presently the best character and arguably my favourite of all time is Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory. From the past to the present I'd say the characters who have been my favourites and have influenced me the most would probably be Mr. Spock from Star Trek, Ginger Grant from Gilligan's Island, Jan Brady from The Brady Bunch, Burt Campbell fromSoap, Sabrina Duncan from Charlie's Angels, Coach Reeves fromThe White Shadow, Mulder from X-Files, Xena - Warrior Princess, Richard and John from Ally McBeal, Mary Ann from Cybill, Karen from Will & Grace, Jack Bristow from Alias, Dr. Christian Troy from Nip/Tuck, Cappie from Greek, Octavian from Rome, Sylar from Heroes, Locke and Desmond from Lost and Matt Saracen and Tim Riggins on Friday Night Lights.

This is a wonderful question. I'd have to say my #1 is Dr. Spock from Star Trek, who influenced me greatly in the way I changed my thinking. He enabled me to calm down and think about things thoroughly before I reacted emotionally to them. He enabled me to become analytic...I could go on.

#2 would have to be Desmond from LOST. While LOST has many great characters (I love Sun as well), Desmond is 'special' in more ways than one. He influenced me to persevere in the face of adversity and to remain optimistic no matter how long you have to wait to escape from a bad situation.

#3 I have to choose a woman. I think Angela Chase wins out over everyone else. Despite her anxieties as a geeky teenager in high school, she managed to handle everything in such a cool manner that she was quite inspiring for me. And the moment when Jordan first kisses her still gives me chills down my spine whenever I think about it. It is a single event that I can still conjure up anytime - I remember it that clearly.♥

But there are so many more! Oh gosh...Richard in 'The Seeker'...Gwen in 'Torchwood'...Dimitri in 'Flash Forward'...Marc Antony in 'Rome'! (Does he count since he was a real person?)

Barca in 'Spartacus: Blood & Sand'...
Ooops. I forgot to mention that Angela (played by Claire Danes) starred in 'My So-Called Life'. :)
Those are great characters. There are really too many to choose from. It was quite a task to think back over my life and remember all these characters who were so important to me in one way or another.

Spock and Desmond are on my list as well and I have a feeling we are not alone in those choices. Barca in "Spartacus" is quite a character, LOL. I think a lot of girls relate to Angela in "My So Called Life" as we did all go through many similar moments in our own lives.
I'm remembering 'Freaks & Geeks' too. What a great show that was as well.
I wish I could remember the main female character in it...I thought she was really good, but for some reason did not identify with her that much.

Oh, and thank you so much for the virtual gift! I shall enjoy them like you suggested. :)
Hard to pick as there are so many...maybe I'll do go until I can't think of any more...(not in any order obviously)

1)Samantha on Bewitched. She rocked!

2)Apollo on the original Battlestar Galactica back in the 70's.

3)Daniel Faraday, Lost He's just awesome.

4)Roman Dex, Stargate:Atlantis My warrior *sigh*

5)Star Trek's Spock as he's just well...epic!

6) Jamie Summers the Bionic Woman. She was amazing!

7) Diana Prince the original and only Wonder Woman.

8) Catwoman...she was wicked & cool.

9)Andrea Thomas aka Isis...Egypt is eternally with me

10)Logan 5 from Logan's Run 1977 - 1978

11) Tim Riggins FNL...enough said.

12)Benson from Soap

13) Tarzan....well Travis Fimmel has something to do with this....but I'm adding it regardless.

14)John Boy on the Waltons....yaya sue me I had a soft spot for him...and he was a writer.

15)Xena, Warrior Princess....

16) Dr. Daniel Jackson, Stargate SG-1

17) Cybill Sherridan, Cybill

That's about all I can think of right now...will edit if I remember any more.
