Strange Women...

Historical Fiction on screen...

Went to see Mr. Peabody and Sherman today. Yes I know it is a kid’s movie but all the history references/historical characters (Tutankhamen, da Vinci, Marie Antoinette, Robespierre, Trojan War, etc.)  were not to be missed. I love movies like this because they introduce children to history and make it so appealing that it encourages them to learn more about all these great people and events....and then when you become a teenager, oh gosh, then comes the onslaught of historical fiction and there is no turning back. Did I mention I just purchased a book re: the Three Musketeers re-imagined as vampires/vampire hunters?

Speaking of historical drama and Leonardo da Vinci…I was checking the onscreen tv listings last night and literally discovered (with about 2 hours to spare) that Season 2 of Da Vinci’s Demons was starting up on Showcase. YAYAY!! Although I will miss Guiliano De’Medici, I’m certain it will still be tons of fun. Can’t wait to see the Pazzis swing….I forgot how much I loved Clarice. She had the best lines of the night. I almost wish Lorenzo had remained unconscious a little longer just to see her rule in his absence.
