Ned - Bad Day

Getting there...and a bit about the Grammies...

Still sick…well at least the achy part is over…and although I’m still congested, I am not so stuffed up that I can’t breathe. I’ve been taking Tylenol cold and flu off and on since Friday. It helps a lot but I think it is upsetting my stomach so I’m trying to avoid it. I don’t really feel sick (at least not like I did on Friday evening) – just more unenergetic than usual. I just want to lay down. MEH…hopefully I’m back to normal soon.

Watched the Grammy Awards…they were dull and not very well organized IMO. The winners were deserving if not predictable. Taylor Swift looked fantastic; Beyonce not so much…(that dress was horrid!!). Tribute to BB King was the highlight of the show – the rest of the night was just boring. I think I was more entertained by the audience reactions than the actual performances. I expect the Oscars to be a snooze-fest as well…but I do have high hopes for the Tonies, especially with James Corden hosting.

I hope you will be feeling better soon! There is a lot of sickness going around atm. My son texted me last night to ask me if I was watching the new season of Survivor which had just started (I wasn't aware it had so thanked him) and we texted all through it. He is sick with a bad cold too - he had to work last Saturday during that horrendous cold spell (he was on call) and that probably made him worse.

I missed the Grammys and was sorry I had because of all the tributes to the artists who had passed (I regretted not seeing Lady Gaga's tribute to David Bowie, which looked good in the clips they showed later). But maybe I didn't miss much after all.
Thank you...I am feeling a bit better as the week progresses.

About 3/4 of the people I work with have been sick within the past three weeks so it's not surprising that I came down with something. Unlike your son I was fortunate to not have to go out this past weekend during that dreadful cold spell. At least we weren't in Ottawa - it was much colder there, or so I hear. I hope your son is feeling better soon.

You really didn't miss much with the Grammys. Lady Gaga's performance was not as good as it could have or should have been. It was more about Lady Gaga than Bowie. To be fair, I'm not sure anyone could really do proper justice to Bowie's works. There were so many songs to choose from so a lot had to be left out...and of the songs that were selected for the tribute, you were lucky if they played more than one or two lines from the song. Perhaps it is available for you to view the performance online on Youtube (but it may be copyright protected??). I wouldn't worry about it though - you are better off just listening to the Bowie original anyway!
