Movies, Money, Tennis, Futbol, Work...(the usual)..

The weekend flew by. I accomplished nothing...as usual. OK well I did see The Bourne Ultimatum which was decent...As for a spy action film though I preferred the last Bond film . That said, I think the last Bond film did its best to take what it could from the Bourne format, being so contemporary and vivacious, and apply it to the traditional Bond structure to make Bond accessible and relevant  to a new generation of fans. Me myself, I'd rather a period piece but sometimes you just need a variety. Hopefully I'll get an opportunity to see The Last Legion or Stardust at the cinema but I suppose I'll have to wait for the DVD seeing as funds are being drastically limited in order to allow me to go to the CNE this weekend.

Speaking of funds, the new target date for completion of my Debt Management Program is April 2009. I am going to withdraw from my RRSPs in March 2009 but only a little bit to allow me to make the final DMP payment during my three paycheque month of April in 2009. At first I was going to withdraw a substantial sum of money from my RRSPs to pay it all off a year early but why lose all that $$ to taxes??? The amount I plan on withdrawing is relatively insignificant. I shouldn't be taxed on it come income tax time seeing as I have practically a whole year without debt during which I can make substantial RRSP contributions. Plus, paying it off a few months earlier will give me the spring and summer months of 2009 to enjoy being debt free. I know I think about this way too much but I really can't wait until I'm debt free. Nothing makes me more depressed than living from paycheque to paycheque without any extra spending money. In fact, that is the only thing that genuinely depresses me these days. It restricts my life in so many ways...why I can't go places, why I can't do things....*sigh*. But once it is over, I will at last be free!!! And believe me, I will enjoy it immensely.

Real Madrid played this weekend. Rumour has it, they won. Their game was supposed to be televised but GOL TV couldn't get the rights to it for some reason or another. O_o Hopefully I'll get to see Iker and the rest of the boys during this upcoming long weekend along with more than a fair share of the US Open. There were a couple of rather shocking upsets yesterday in New York. Both Baghdatis and Ferrero are out, Ferrero losing to Feli who now goes on to face his Russian counterpart, Igor Andreev, in the second round. Vamos Feli!! Rafa is off for yet another day and will likely play his first round match sometime tomorrow.

Best news of the day - due to various  timing and member conflicts, the September Junior and Finance Committee meetings are currently scheduled to  take place at the same time. Since I can't be in two places at once, I'm only going to the Finance meeting.   ;-) Oh, and did I mention I hate transfer season, hockey, hockey parents, and anything related to amateur hockey. *throws soccer ball across office*

Is it the new chair of Jr that you don't like? or am I getting this mixed up with something else?
It is that Chair but it's not so much that I don't like him - he is just not as, how shall I put this, 'experienced' 'intelligent' , 'qualified' 'competent' or eloquent ' coherent' as the last one.
