New guy watching???

I forgot to mention, the OHF's winter intern started this week. And he is an athropology/classical studies graduate. Needless to say, I'm in heaven. First day here I grilled him on the Julio-Claudians. Today we discussed the Battle of Thermopylae, Phidippides and the difference between Sparta and Athens...much too the dismay of our co-workers and Paul, in particular, who had mentioned that he just watched 300 instigating what he no doubt believed would be a simple discussion of the film. Poor guy, little did he know what he was getting into. mwuaha

BTW, Paul is letting me borrow 300 so I will finally get to see it this weekend and determine if it merits purchasing.

I wish there were people at work I could have a conversation on anything remotely interesting with but sadly there isn't...most of them are what I call 'intellectually challenged'. The most meaningful conversation I had was with the mail room guy on Byron and Shelley and that's only because he was a English major in Uni. Most of the people at the AD don't even know anything about their own history...try asking them about Pope Alexander 6th and all you get is blank stares and open mouths! *shakes fist* Where are the Jesuits when you need them? *whines*
