AGoT thoughts and premature congrats to Real Madrid...

Much fun last night watching the 'Making Of' A Game of Thrones special on HBO. I actually stayed up to midnight to watch it twice. But LOL at niviene ...what a newb!! I probably spent about an hour discussing the whole ASOIAF backstory (and some future speculation as well) with her....it was absolutely fantastic. The 25 min special included a teasing bit of the direwolves scene. Given that they omitted the earlier 'Theon kicks the head' scene, it is possible that Theon Greyjoy's part is being reduced in the series...which is a good thing IMO. However, it could mean that they will cut one of my favourite moments from the direwolf scene- the exchange between Theon and Jon Snow after Jon finds the abandoned sixth cub. I'm posting that brief bit of dialogue here since, IMO, it's canon:

"He must have crawled away from the others," Jon said.

"Or been driven away," their father said, looking at the sixth pup. His fur was white, where the rest of the litter was grey. His eyes were as red as the blood of the ragged man who had died that morning. Bran thought it curious that this pup alone would have opened his eyes while the others were still blind.

"An albino," Theon Greyjoy said with wry amusement. "This one will die even faster than the others."

Jon Snow gave his father's ward a long, chilling look. "I think not Greyjoy...this one belongs to me."

*epic fangirl swoon* There is sooooo much symbolism in that moment...ahhhh.

Huge congratulations to Real Madrid for their big victory on Tuesday which all but ensures them a spot in the Semi Finals of the Champions League. With Barca's win on Wednesday it appears almost certain that there will be four Clasicos within the span of 2 1/2 weeks. Talk about stress. Good luck with that J-Mo.

.it was absolutely fantastic.

but you're loling me?!?!?! :D Not having read the books I did catch on pretty fast though!!! Snow's storyline is interesting....did find some inconsistencies that I'd like to talk to GRRM about but I'm sure he'd just walk away from me because I haven't read the series telling me to come back when I have...
OK it isn't so much LOLing...it's more like smirking at the cuteness at how you get so intense with your questions...I hope my 'cheat sheet' helps a bit. But you really do ask some heavy duty questions - a lot of stuff that HASN'T been revealed yet in the series and is still yet to be resolved...or questions that only people who live and breathe Westeros could answer (and you probably don't want to talk to those people if you know what I mean - think Comic-Con attendees...ooohhhh that makes me think, can we call the ASOIAF fan events "Stark" Trek conventions???? ahem, sorry, got a little off topic there) In fact, I doubt GRRM even knows the precise details of how his storylines will end. There are several inconsistencies and contradictions in the novels that make you wonder whether GRRM is having a brainfreeze moment or whether it is completely intentional. I can't think of a series of novels I've read where that doesn't happen though. Also, there are plenty of things I wish he never wrote...and I'm ASSUMING he did it for a reason so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, for now, *cough* Catelyn's resurrection *cough* That said, I really wish you would ask GRRM cause I'm certain he'd provide some rather enlightening rhetoric. I'm warning you though, these books...they suck you in.... Hopefully the series will do them justice. The first book is the best one IMO. It really does a great job making you love and loathe the characters. It is probably the one that will adapt the best to film as well. I just hope you enjoy it half as much as I do.
I think I would like to read them but I refuse to read that tiny type as the books have....my eyes can't take it lol....

I love the icon btw :D
Now you know exactly why I got an eReader....that and the fact that books are too HUGE to carry around.
