You would think this is a relatively easy question but I have THREE favourite contemporary books and each of them have Prologues in addition to "first lines". Below are my three favourite books, including the first line in the Prologue and the first line in the book proper. Can you guess what the books are?
Prologue: The angel was clearing out his closets when the call came.
First line: You think you know how this story is going to end, but you don't.
Prologue: The day was grey and bitter cold, and the dogs would not take the scent.
First line: An east wind blew through his tangled hair, as soft and fragrant as Cersei's fingers.
Prologue: In my time I have been called many things: sister, lover, priestess, wise-woman, queen.
First line: Even in high summer, Tintagel was a haunted place; Igraine, Lady of Duke Gorlois, looked out over the sea from the headland.
You should be able to guess the second and third ones given the names being bantered about. If you know me well enough, you should even get the first one. Bonus points if you can figure out who the character P.O.V is from Book 2.
P.S. As I typed the lines from #3 I realized that I actually prefer another book by the same author but I don't have the book handy to quote from it so I'll have to post that one later.
