Audrey Hepburn

Involuntarily I glanced seaward—and distinguished nothing except a single green light...

Another trailer for today...

Even though I fully expect this movie to be slammed by critics I am so eager to see it on the big screen. It will be a visual feast. Gatsby is one of my all time favourite books...I tear up every time I hear someone say 'old sport' (and then Hiddleston had to go and play F. Scott in Midnight in Paris and well, *swoon*) Good casting for this film. I like Leo as Gatsby - it will be Howard Hughes all over again minus the germaphobia. I love Carey as Daisy - in fact I really can't think of anyone else who could do the role justice. Tobey Maguire has the perfect voice for the narration required from Nick Carraway. IDK re: the soundtrack though - Jay-Z??

"Gatsby believed in the green light, the orgiastic future that year by year recedes before us. It eluded us then, but that's no matter--tomorrow we will run faster, stretch out our arms farther.... And one fine morning-- So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past."

Part of me wishes Tom was in this film - he has that classic look for jazz age period pieces - but I'm perfectly fine with his portrayal of F. Scott Fitzgerald, brief though it was.
I really hope 'The Hollow Crown' series comes out here. I have the British DVD that plays on my all-region DVD player (so thankful am I to have that). Tom Hiddleston plays Prince Hal in 'Henry IV' and King Henry himself in 'Henry V' and is so excellent and compelling that I don't have the words to describe him. Jeremy Irons is wonderful as King Henry IV his father. I just hope that this series will be shown in Canada SOON. :)

I've been a big fan of Hiddleston since that series. And yes, his appearance as F. Scott Fitzgerald was too brief!
I downloaded 'The Hollow Crown' series a few months ago because I was tired of waiting for it to come out here in Canada. Tom and Jeremy were both wonderful...actually the whole cast for that series was brilliant. I have yet to watch Richard II...although I know it will be magnificent and I do enjoy Ben Whishaw. Did you catch Harry Lloyd (aka Viserys from 'A Game of Thrones') as Mortimer in Henry IV Pt 1?
Was debating whether to see it in the theater but the cast has me wanting to...
