Today...Cirque, Golden Globes

NOTE: It is Sunday, January 10 and I have yet to see Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Then again, I basically know everything that happens in it and am not in any rush to get to the theatre. Frankly, I’d rather go see Macbeth, again The Forest. Natalie Dormer plus a Bear McCreary score pretty much sold me on The Forest. Again, someone tell me why Bear McCreary didn’t win the Emmy for Best Original Dramatic Score for Outlander Black Sails, The Walking Dead, Da Vinci’s Demons, Defiance ?The Outlander soundtrack was beyond brilliant.

Speaking of awards, the Golden Globes are tonight…and I will be missing the red carpet and likely the beginning of the award ceremony itself to see Toruk (Cirque du Soleil). I’m only mildly upset about the preemption since Toruk looks AMAZING and will certainly be far more entertaining than the GG red carpet. Of course I’m pvr’ing the whole shebang. I’ve even taken tomorrow off work to (re)watch the festivities. For what it’s worth, I’m hoping Saoirse Ronan, Michael Fassbender and Matt Damon win in the movie categories. As for television, really would love to see Eva Green win. I'm not holding out much hope for any of the above though...

More on Toruk and the GGs, over the next few days.
